Discover the top 4 highest-rated render farms

Based on our render farm listing, we have seen five render farms with high views and good customer review ratings. Let’s look at why these four highest-rated render farms!

Learn the criteria for evaluating a good render farm

As you know, rendering is one of the final stages of the 3D pipeline. It is also a process that requires a lot of time and attention. If you just ignore it a little, a system crash will occur, affecting your results. In addition, the investment in workstations is also an expensive cost. To limit these problems and difficulties, renting a render farm is currently the best solution for 3D artists.

In the world, there are many different render farms; even in our list of render farms, the number of render farms for you to choose from has already caused you a lot of headaches. So to evaluate a good render farm, we will have the following criteria:

Service

A good Render Farm service must meet the needs of the customer. Currently, there are two famous render farm models that we often talk about: IaaS and SaaS.

With an IaaS render farm, 3D artists are free to set up the software and rendering engines they use and don’t have to ask if the farm supports them. Because with Render Farm following the IaaS model, you have the right to control and use the system and set up any software you want.

What about SaaS? The SaaS farm is a bit different. Those farms already have rendering tools and software available; You just need to pack the data file and upload the software to the system, wait for the system to finish rendering, then you can download it to your computer. Of course, when choosing a SaaS rendering farm, if you check their website and there is no software version or rendering engine you are using, you have to ask the customer service rep directly. This practice will take a little more time, but make sure your scene file is rendered for the best results.

Price

In terms of price, it’s hard to compare because the pricing of render farms is different. So, no render farm is the best price.

We also had an article about calculating the price of rendering farms. It’s only easy when you do the same project and compare the amount and speed between render farms. This has already been done by some parties. Therefore, in this article, when talking about prices, we will include the current price and the packages that the render farms have.

Customer Service

Currently, most rendering farms support customers 24/7 with various support software such as mail, Skype, a hotline, and box chat systems,…

Besides, there are still render farms that only support customers during office hours. This is obviously very inconvenient for you.

Why is that? There are times when you have to meet a deadline and have to work at night, OT, to timely hand over files. If during the process of meeting the deadline, you encounter a system error or the software needs to be edited, then it will be better to have customer support you. If you use IaaS render farms, in the event of an error, you can completely stop and edit it (in case you know how to fix it). If you don’t know how to fix it, please contact the support group and let them help you.

When using the SaaS render farm and your scene file has a problem, you will not be able to fix it; you can only stop and start over. Or at this point, please contact support to get it resolved.

24/7 Assistance

24/7 assistance is available. Once you register for an account, a staff member will get in touch with you by email, Whatsapp, or other channels for quicker communication or problem-solving. They are acting really proactively.

Even though it was midnight here and we were having some connection issues with the instance, they were still able to assist. However, when we encountered a problem with the program we employ, the personnel failed to respond to the message. We had to visit the website and file a complaint. The personnel advised us to get in touch with the website if it happened again because they can be reached 24/7 despite the fact that the person in contact with us cannot due to time zone variations. In the end, the problem was resolved, and they even reimbursed us for the troubleshooting time spent. That’s really neat.

Ranch Computing

The second on the list of highest-rated render farms is Ranch Computing. Ranch Computing is a render farm from France based in Paris. Since 2006, their goal has been to enable all graphic designers, regardless of their field of expertise (animation, VFX, architecture, design, video games, etc.), and irrespective of the size of the organization, they work for (from large studios to independent contractors), to approach the rendering process calmly to meet their deadlines and their financial constraints.

Utilize our render farm to fulfill your deadline, keep an eye on your spending, and maintain composure.

Service:

Support only popular software and plug-in. They only support Cycles and Eevee for Blender. There’s no renderer like Octane or Redshift. Also, there’s a shortage of architectural tools like SketchUp, Revit, Rhino, AutoCAD, etc. They are SaaS so they cannot support your project in Lumion, D5 Render, Enscape, Twinmotion, Unreal Engine, or what we call real-time rendering.

Support

No 24/7 support

They only have support from Monday to Friday from 9 am to 7 pm (UTC+1 / Paris, France), by email or phone. It’s kind of inconvenient. This is inconvenient when you are in another country working with them after business hours, or when you are in the middle of a deadline and encounter an error but must still wait for their response.
